Delhi 6

Just finished watching Delhi 6 and in all these 2 hours 18 minutes of run time I was just wondering or rather exhilarated after watching the execution of a simple story in a unconventional yet captivating way....... Hats off 2 Rakeysh Mehra for showing such courage to move against the flow, the use of Ramlila is a direct blow to the methodological structure of Indian society, but certainly you could feel the warmth while watching the movie...... the characters are etched out brilliantly...... you just couldn't take your eyes off from Waheeda Rehman whenever she comes on screen and same for Sonam Kapoor, she reflects such a child like innocence that you fell in love with her from the very first moment she comes onscreen.......Abhishek's accent doesn't looks fake, although he isn't that good and he could have done better than this........ A.R. Rehman, the music maestro doesn't need any applause from my side the name itself guarantee quality....... Rishi Kapoor is a top notch and same for Divya Dutta, she impresses everyone with her portrayal of an untouchable who keeps on mouthing fowl words but is a kind soul........ Om Puri and Pawan Malhotra enacted their part pretty well and same goes for Supriya Pathak and her sister-in-laws (oops.... i don't know their names) ......... On the whole Delhi 6 is captivating with its not so new theme of Hindu Muslim unity but a bit slow as the time being taken for the events to occur destroys the enthusiasm of watching it happening on screen.................and the kaala bandar the concept is gr8 but then again too gibbrish to come from Mehra.......... and yeah the romance in the movie is totally missing.......... may be while making a statement on Hindu Muslim Unity Mehra almost forgot to allow the lead pair to spend some quality time on screen.................... and technically movie is completely flawless, excellent cinematography, brilliant backdrops and background score and fabulous music soothes your ears and slowly slowly grows on you so much so that by the end movie gets over you would probably start singing one of the songs as in my case I loved Massakali and Genda phool.............. the whole conclusion is you can devote your 2 hours and 18 mins to watch something ordinary yet very rooted to our culture and day today life................
